"Kill 'Em! Crush 'Em! Eat 'Em Raw!"
Question 2- Paragraph 5-7 compare and contrast football and war. Is this comparison concincing? How does the comparision appeal to logos? Yes, the comparison is concining.Mainly because of the comparison of languages and the contrast of protest in war. The comparison apeals to logo because the languages used in both football and war have very similar charateristics.Though war is more protested than football, the comparison is more relivant and logical explained. Question 5- McMurtry also addresses the argument that games such as football allow us to discharge out "original-sin urge into less harmful channels than, say war"(para 15). Cite passages where Mcmurtry counters this agrument. Do you agree with him? Why or why not? "Aristotle said stage tragedy does: without real blood, it releases players and audience from unhealthy feelings stored up insisde them." "a sort of colorful morality play showing us how exciting and awarding it is to Smash Thy Neighbor." Yes because without being able to release bottled up aggression and/or stress it can cause a person to explode with frustration. Question 7- Who is McMurtry's audience? Is it necessary for the reader to understand or care about football in order to understand what McMurtry is saying about society? Explain? McMurtry's audience could be football players, people who enjoy football, or just his students science he is a teacher. Yes/No because if the audience has knowledge of football they can possibly understand the language between war.On the other hand no because as long as the audience finds the essay fascinating, it really would not matter.
